German term
vorgehen
German to English
Art/Literary
Music
Recording
"Vor der Produktionsaufnahme wurde eine Umfrage unter den großen Musikbibliotheken aus aller Welt durchführt (so ging die Firma X vor), welche der Kauf der CD zusicherten [sic.]"
I'm unclear as to the meaning of vorgehen in this context.
Obviously before recordings took place, a questionnaire was sent out to make sure there would be buyers for the actual CD recordings.

one of the meanings found above: an emphasis that is what the company did (how they acted) in this case.

: Looks like an aside - in other words they acted in a way that Firma X had acted?
