When you say it's a "view", if it isn't a diagram, is it a photo? Could you give the text before and after your excerpt, for fuller context.

I think if this is an actual 3D model, you'll have to sue soemthing along the lines of 'cutaway' — but it would probably read best if you can work the word 'model' into your sentence somewhere along the line (groan!)
