Japanese term
焼締め(焼き締め)
Japanese to English
Tech/Engineering
Mechanics / Mech Engineering
Steam turbine
I am translating the following sentnece and can't find the translation of 焼締め.
ボルト締付けは、ナットの締付け角度をマークし、ボルトヒーターで焼締めします。
It seems to be a technique for tightening bolts by heating; however, I can't fine the technical term for the process. Your help will be appreciated.

THERMAL TIGHTENING
An alternative:
THERMAL TIGHTENING: This method employs costly stud heaters which require holes in the bolts/studs. Heat is applied, then the nut tightened. Tightening depends on the shrinkage which occurs as the bolt/stud cools.
