Why do we do it, David?

I have gladly given up the struggle but am still interested in helping those who are in the fray :)

here we go again with the dilemma of the translator ... the source "documents" give us a headache if not precise and we have to unravel the puzzle (why do we do it? good question for forums lol)
Martin Riordan Jan 5, 2011:
I agree with Tony - it´s badly written in English, and it seems to mean to weed out the blurred photos. Wow, that will improve photography!
Travelin Ann Jan 5, 2011:
Hi Tony My comment was written before we had the info that it was a camera. In Photoshop and other similar photo editing software, blur is a function rather than "find blur."
Tony M Jan 5, 2011:
@ Ann Sorry, but according to the 2 camera models I've found using this term, it is indeed 'find blur' — though as I've said below, the EN is a bit of a misnomer anyway.
Tony M Jan 5, 2011:
Sanyo Have this model offering this feature, but I have been unable to find any translated documentation for it:

SANYO VPC-T1495

Thanks a lot Tony!!! Yes, the manual helps a lot! Also thanks to Martin and Travelin for your assistance :)
Travelin Ann Jan 5, 2011:
Blur can be used to give an impression of movement, when there was no movement OR to remove movement, depending on its application. "find blur" is likely not your term - most likely you have some instructions that were not terribly well-written. Think of it this way:
Under "capture" look for the "blur" button. Hope that helps.

Quick Google search... ...threw up this explanation of what it is:

ftp://217.21.255.101/camera/manuals/s1410/s1410_en.pdf

"Find Blur Function
With the camera’s new “Find Blur” function, this camera finds the blurry photo when
capture under Continuous.
1. Press the MODE button, and set the camera
mode to [ ].
2. Press the MENU button, and select [Find Blur]
icon with the 􀁣 / 􀁤 buttons. Set “Find Blur” on.
3. Press the shutter button to return to preview
display.
4. Press the shutter button down fully to capture
your image.
5. Press the SET (Execute) button to save the best
image.
Press the MENU (Cancel) button to save all images.
"

Looks like it is actually pretty badly written EN in the first place, so it's really 'find blurred image'.
Perhaps you'll be able to find the FR version of the same doc?

I thought I was onto something with a Sanyo model, as they have a multilingual site; sadly, though, the FR version is incomplete :-(
Martin Riordan Jan 5, 2011:
Can you post the make and model of the camera so that we can check it out?
Mohamad Rudi Atmoko (asker) Jan 5, 2011:
Context: Cameras Yes, it is about cameras. Sorry, I thought it's enough by selecting "photography". Under the "Capture Mode", among others, are Image Stab. (Auto, On, Off) Quick Shot (On, Off) Digi. Zoom (On, Off), Find Blur ((On, Off) Date Print (On, Off).
Travelin Ann Jan 5, 2011:
Are these instructions for photo editing software, such as PhotoShop?//http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/photoshop/l/bllps508b.htm
Martin Riordan Jan 5, 2011:
Context! Hi Mohamad! You need to supply more context. Are you talking about cameras? Please supply the total context because without this, it is very hard to know what "find blur" means...
