French term

XE magnétisme

French to English Tech/Engineering Computers: Software
This is in the middle of a Word doc translation from France talking about fashion design software and seems to be some kind of code since it's in curly brackets. I have translated the rest of the sentence, but I'm not sure what it refers to. This is the sentence:

Sélectionner le 1er échantillon coloris > Click gauche {XE "magnétisme"} {XE "symétrie} sur l'echantillon.

In the TM for this translation, "magnétisme" is translated either as "snap to" or "gravity" but it's never used in this way. It seems like "snap to" would work better in this context, but I'd like to understand what the XE and the brackets mean.

Any help would be much appreciated.

{ XE text } This is also hidden text - to be revealed (made visible) only with the button marked {a} or the command Tools / Options / View / Field Codes. Indexing a translated document is a job on its own.

don't translate XE

{XE "xxxxx"} is a MS Word indexing command, and it's the same in English and French so I wouldn't translate it

see in French :
