Chinese to English Other General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters Customer Survey Comment
Hello,

This comment is in response to the question, "Why were you so satisfied with the service?" I don't have any other context.

Obviously it's a positive comment, but I haven't been able to find out exactly what it means.

Maybe it's something like the company was working whole-heartedly for the customer, or that the company was very proactive and didn't just sit around...

I'd appreciate your thoughts, comments and references!

Discussion

yongmeili Apr 11, 2011:
It is entirely a Cantonese expression which means: When it is used, it is not convenient at all. There is no mistake in the text itself. Thus I completely agree with Willman's translation.
Caroline Moreno (asker) Apr 8, 2011:
Hi Shirley,

Yes, that is the order. There is probably a typo somewhere, maybe the "shen" is supposed to be something else. The service is help with an IT project. Thanks for the tip on 就手. That's very helpful!
Shirley Lao Apr 8, 2011:
Should be: Are you sure that the order of these characters is the same as what you typed?
Shirley Lao Apr 8, 2011:
May I ask what the service or product is? May I ask what the service or product is?
Shirley Lao Apr 8, 2011:
用起身不就手 or 不用起身就手? Are you sure that the order of these characters are the same as what you typed?

就手(順利)is a Cantonese expression.

Not user-friendly

It seems to me that it should be a negative comment that should read "用起来不就手", which means "not user friendly". "用起来" roughly means "to use", "不就手" means "inconvenient".

you need to rise when you use it so it's inconvenient

用起身=需要站起来=you need to rise /stand up when you use it.

不就手=不顺手=not handy, inconvenient
