German term

Weitsichtstörmeldeanzeige

German to English Tech/Engineering Mechanics / Mech Engineering
I'm translating a manual for a system for assembling products. In the description of the individual components, the document refers to a "Weitsichtstörmeldeanzeige" and a few other similar terms (e.g. Weitsichtmeldeleuchte).

These are simply displays or lights that are designed to be seen from a distance, i.e. across the shop floor. However, I'm struggling to come up with a neat solution for the "Weitsicht..." part in English. Unfortunately I need something short and snappy that will fit into tables and diagrams, so I can't really get away with paraphrasing it each time.

I like it Thank you for the suggestion. I definitely like the suggestion of "high-visibility" - it's better than anything I have come up with so far.
Bernd Runge Aug 25, 2011:
highly visible Hello Adam, I know that this is not a 100 % equivalent but being highly visible increases the chances of being visible from a distance. So, might high-visibility alarm indicator be worth considering? If so, let me know.
Long-range/distance may be other options as these are used for "Weitbereichs~".

neutral olympio (X) : good suggestion, IMO, except that the idea conveyed by the prefix weit- in the source term is missing in the translation
