Ok. It's the eternal discussion. It all depends on the individual interpretation of the text. I just hope that Ibotto has interpreted it correctly.

I see your point about remnants being left over from a previous event, but to my mind they were vestiges of “erupciones posteriores” (posterior a que, no lo sé) that have already occurred. “which are remnants of later eruptions”, "later" being relative to some earlier event.

"Remnants" refer to something that is left over after something has happened. I'm sorry but, "Of course, subvolcanic bodies were located throughout the whole terrain, which are remnants of subsequent eruptions" sounds rather strange to my ears.
