Discussion

Yiming Gan Feb 8, 2012:
I think this product is so good, it is just like some happy-maker-drugs, but in this case, it´s legal. So habe ich verstanden...
Ramey Rieger (X) Feb 7, 2012:
Legal as in happy-makers - drugs?
Phoebe Indetzki Feb 7, 2012:
Play on words... I'm pretty sure the "Glücksdrink" here is a play on "Glücksspiele", which are strictly regimented in Germany, and only legal with a state licence. But here it's only the drink that's 'gambled', hence a perfectly 'legal' game.
martina1974 (asker) Feb 7, 2012:
Thank you for your help. To be honest, I still have to clarify with the customer, what he means by "legal". To be honest, I still have to ask the customer for a detailed explanation. Unfortunately I cannot reach him before tomorrow morning.
Cilian O'Tuama Feb 7, 2012:
What is the significance of "legal" here? Is it absinthe-like?
Or do you play a game with it? Würfel/Spieler?
More info needed.
Yiming Gan Feb 7, 2012:
the legal magic drink, maybe?

(The drink that is) almost too good to be legal

One possible (and quite commonly used) approach.

e.g.

"After spending years in search of the perfect cup of coffee, I must admit I’ve had quite a few that have come close enough to deserving to be, as the saying goes, “almost too good to be legal”."

"Well, superb setting, modern decor, ambience by the bucket load, and food that is almost too good to be legal!"

The legal (happy) high

What I would think, as you go on to describe the drink, I think it's more important to catch the reader's attention

legal mood-enhancer

I would like to see more context than just two words, but anyway, I'll take a guess here. With the emphasis on the translation of "Glück", you could consider "legal mood-enhancer" or "legal mood-enhancing drink". Below I've put links to the web pages promoting various, er, recreational substances which include the above phrases.

Hope this helps.

XXX - The legal toast! (toaster?)
XXX - A legal celebration!

The coolest chocolate drink of all time. Pure or as an unbelievable (a mindblowing?) cocktail, 9 flavours, 1 cube, 1 player.

Shake your cube!

Sorry I am playing here and rewriting the advert to sound like a good english teaser. Wurfel deinen Drink-Mix is a play on words and I have found that these cannot be directly translated as the english will not make sense thus my rewrite. It seems to me that they are using the gambling casino type of approach which is to roll the dice but that would not work here so shake the dice shaker ?????
