Peer comment(s):

agree Charles Davis : Yes, I think MA must be mamaria; it can stand for marginal aguda (right marginal artery), as my answer shows, but in the context of bypass surgery this is much more likely.

Indeed. I have translated quite a few texts on this subject now. Thank you!

MA can be marginal agudo = right marginal artery (RMA), but not here (I think)

I posted "Right Marginal Artery (RMA)" as an answer but then withdrew it, because I don't think it fits the context; this artery does not seem to be implicated in bypass surgery as the mammary artery is. However, my references may be useful to somebody one day in a different context, so here they are:

"CD = coronaria derecha, MA = marginal aguda, DP = descendente posterior; A = anterior"

This is one of the two branches of the Right Coronary Artery, the other being the Posterior Descending Artery:

http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circulación_coronaria

In English it is called the Right Marginal Artery, and its normal abbreviation is RMA:

"The right marginal branch of right coronary artery (or right marginal artery) is a large marginal branch which follows the acute margin of the heart and supplies branches to both surfaces of the right ventricle.

ARTERIES:
RCA = right coronary
AB = atrial branches
SANB = sinuatrial nodal
RMA = right marginal
LCA = left coronary
CB = circumflex branch
LAD/AIB = anterior interventricular
LMA = left marginal
PIA/PDA = posterior descending
MARG = left marginal
AVN = atrioventricular nodal"
