Spanish to English Science Petroleum Eng/Sci Sampling

NOTE: I know this expression has a definition in Kudoz but I need referencing / justification that applies to my context.

This is a document which I am revising about Oil/gas production.

Here are three examples in context (the overall subject is calculating waste water quantities before they are sent out for treatment).

"05 Introduce datos de muestreo puntual"
"Se introducen los datos del muestreo puntual en el sistema."
"Las concentraciones medias podrán provenir de medidores en continuo, o bien de medias de concentración obtenidas partiendo de muestreos puntuales."

The translator has put "SPECIFIC sampling" on the first 2 occasions, and "SCHEDULED sampling on the third occasion".
I am of the opinion that the equivalent term here is "SPOT sampling" or "POINT sampling".
"Spot/point sampling" is randomised rather than "specific/scheduled" and so the meaning is very different (almost opposite).

Can anyone clear this up for me with some good referencing (as I say I have seen that there is a Kudoz entry for the term but it is a personal entry and it doesn't have any references to back it up) or becuase you know for a fact which is the correct term.
