собственные нужды vs хозяйственные нужды

report on investment in power stations
I think here хозяайсвтвенный means "domestic", so I'm having trouble with distinguishing "own needs" from "domestic/local needs". They are both quite small, with the хозяйственные нужды being much smaller. I don't think either is power consumed in the generation of electricity, but i could be wrong.

auxiliary vs utility
if your terms refer to power consumption, then they are defined as follows:
собственные нужды - this is the power used to supply the auxiliary devices (as opposite to the main process equipment)
хозяйственные нужды - this is the power used to supply utility devices (for personnel accommodation and comfort)

No David, instead of "auxiliary requirements" there should be "auxiliary power" or "auxiliary load" and "utility load" accordingly.

Note from asker:
Thanks Igor Does that mean I could translate собственные нужды as "auxiliary requirements"? You've confirmed my understanding of хозяйственный in this context. |

Comment: "Thanks very much for this - I had хозяйственный right but not собственный!"
