French term
Agent du service de prévention de la CRAM
French to English

Hi,
This is taken from the minutes of a works meeting, describing the job of one of the people present. Target is GB English. 'Agent for the Prevention Service of Regional Health Insurance Fund' sounds clumsy to me - does anyone have a better term?
Many thanks in advance,
Becky

In relation to health services it would be more usual to talk about health protection rather then (disease) prevention.

health officer for Caisse régionale d'assurance maladie (CRAM)
That would be my solution. I would expand "CRAM" and left it in French.
I might also add, as a gloss, "Regional Health Insurance Fund."

BTW, I speak American English.

Apparently I speak broken American English (at least today):
"... and leave it in French" (arch)

That was supposed to be "argh" (bad spellcheck! bad spellcheck!)
I might also add, as a gloss, "Regional Health Insurance Fund."

Caisse Régionale d'Assurance Maladie (CRAM) Prevention Service officer
Not very concise, I know, but I feel that "prévention" must be translated.

The basic idea, in my view, is "mieux vaut prévenir que guérir" through preventive or precautionary policies.

AllegroTrans
: "prevention service officer" conveys nothing in English, what is he/she preventing?

My understanding is "prévention des maladies", in other words avoiding health problems (by information campaigns for instance) rather than spending public money on healing and providing care.

member of the safety team
"team" is probably not the appropriate term for CRAM, which is a huge body, but "safety" is probably right.
I also found "agents du réseau de prévention des risques professionnels" on the page indicated below, which may clarify the whole picture.
Note that "agent" rather means somebody on the lowest level of the hierarchy (one who does the work).

As AllegroTrans mentioned, I should not omit CRAM, but in my opinion it's the only straightforward element.
Let me replace also team by department (here, it's something like 50 people, on average).
Here it is, updated proposal:
"member of the CRAM Safety department".

: as CRAM is a specific body in France, you cannot leave it out of the translation

: 1st ref is about agriculture; 2nd about education, and the 3rd does not mention CRAM, so they are not relevant here// no agression intended! Pax!

Gosh, you're being a bit aggressive today! No one has ever disagreed with one of my reference entries before. The links give translations of 'agent', 'service' and 'prévention' - it doesn't matter that they're from different fields to this question.
