"Assessing fault – occupational illness
In the case of occupational illness caused by the employer or an employee of the employer, TFA may pay compensation for the entire loss of income.
The occupational illness must have been caused in accordance with the Tort Liability Act. This means that the injury must have arisen by the employer or somebody employed by the employer having demonstrated a lack of attention, negligence or a lack of care. It is the injured person who must show that the injury was caused in such a manner.
The question of fault is tested by a special board – Vållandenämnden – which consists of judges from the Court of Appeal and the district court. This board is not a court, but it issues a statement on which claims adjustment is based.
For an illness to be able to be brought before the board, it must be approved as an occupational illness by AFA Försäkring or the Swedish Social Insurance Agency."

I'm pretty sure this makes the case for "fault" over "causality":
"Efter den förändring som genomfördes år 1993 av försäkringsvillkoren för trygghetsförsäkring vid arbetsskada krävs i vissa fall visat vållande för att skadeståndsrättslig ersättning för inkomstförlust och uppkomna kostnader efter skada ska lämnas. Vållandenämnden prövar, på den försäkrades begä- ran, frågan om arbetsgivarens eventuella vållande i ärenden som gäller olycksfall i arbetet som inträffat under perioden 1 juli 1993–30 april 2001 samt vid arbetssjukdom som inträffat den 1 juli 1993 eller senare."

: not so sure. Google shows this expression as being used for medicine and drugs and it doesn't strike me as being widely used in employment

My suggestion would need the sentence to be reworked but we talk about employer liability and not 'causality' in this case

: "Vållandeprövning" is a process (evaluation) carried out by "vållandenämnden" (the insurance company's liability committee); it is thus not a "committee".

Hello No problems with what you say here but I did specifically say that the sentence would need to be rewritten and the 'process' is indicated by the verb 'to pass before' or 'to be examined by' (which is another option
