Discussion

Zeynab Tajik Nov 1, 2012:
Dear Armineh, Kindly, as Edward said, I think it has nothing to do with زنگ or صدا . None of suggestions here conveys the exact underlying concept; however, I think the most important part of it is "to admit someone" and then "how" matters. So, considering this premiership, I think اجازه ورود دادن is the better (though not the best) suggestion here.
And if you are determined to cover it all, you should use an explanatory method. No single Persian term can fully describe this English verb.
Armineh Johannes (asker) Oct 31, 2012:
there is no more context - it is what Edward has explained
Dear Armineh,
Plz provide more context.
Edward Plaisance Jr Oct 31, 2012:
to buzz somebody in... what this really means here is to open an electronically controlled door (usually for some restricted place which requires some kind of ID) for anyone without checking their ID...the person outside pushes a buzzer and the person inside simply opens the door (electronically) but does not check the ID
Hojat Borumandi Oct 30, 2012:
Thanks, so i think the sentence should be translated as:
ما تغییر سیاست داده ایم و دیگر در ورودی را با صدای زنگ به روی افراد باز نمی کنیم
Armineh Johannes (asker) Oct 30, 2012:
this is about opening doors this is relative to opening an entrance door

Yes, that is what Edward explained. Here is the definition:

That has nothing to do with the sound.

I am afraid I can't think of any better equivalent for "buzzing or buzzers". Perhaps وزوزک for buzzers and صدای وزوز for buzzing would work depending on your text.
