şcoala postliceală

Non-PRO Romanian to English Other Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs
Certificat de absolvire a şcolii postliceale
Avand in vedere ca teremnul colegiu in Romania inseamna lucuri diferite, cu ce as putea asimila teremhul postliceal pentru a putea intelege cei din UE?

@ TARANUFLORIDOR If you say "college education" you should really specify what you mean. In UK we have Further Education (FE) which often takes place in a college of some sort and covers educational courses required before that of Higher Education. Higher Education (HE) incorporates university degrees and professional qualifications. It is possible to leave school at 16 and go to a college of further education, or alternatively, we can stay on at school till we are 18 to do our A Levels. This 2 year stage of A level courses could also be considered as a form of further education even though it takes place in a school. However, if a student prefers to take A levels in an FE college, or follow another sort of pre-university or vocational course of studies they can do this and their place of study in this case is often referred to as a College of Further Education (or a Further Education College - same thing).

Thank you for your help, Lara. Postliceal in Romanian is a form of education after high-school, that usually lasts for 2 years. It is something in between high-school and University. I think it is pretty much similar to the college education. Do you agree?

Context Could you explain what exactly this means in Romanian education system, the age-group, and which version of English your target text is to be translated for.
Certainly in UK at least "post-secondary school" means absolutely nothing. We have secondary schools, and following this, either "institutions of further education" or "institutions of higher education".

"What is further education?
Further education (FE) is used to describe the education that occurs following compulory post-16 secondary education, which is usually distinct from that offered in universities (higher education). It includes many different levels such as A Levels and Higher National Diplomas. Foundation Degrees are also a type of further education and take 2 years to complete (or 3-4 part-time) compared with the 3-4 years of most bachelors degrees, however they are offered by both universities and colleges; sometimes it is possible to ‘top-up’ a Foundation Degree to a bachelors degree, with 1 year or more of extra study
Further education is usually taught in the sixth-form college part of a school or in independent FE colleges, as well as in other work-based, adult and community learning institutions. Further education programmes will usually go up to Level 3 (e.g. Advances Apprenticeships or A Levels) and are often designed to provide the skills to advance to HE. In the US FE is sometimes referred to as continuing education."
