"L’association de contrainte en un point devient donc un cas particulier de l’association d’une contrainte à une transition. A l’inverse on pourrait aussi se placer dans le cas d’un langage ne permettant pas d’exprimer directement des contraintes sur les transitions (c’est la cas des langages actuels) et placer des contraintes (i.e. typiquement des invariants à choisir parmi une liste ou combinatoire de propriétés prédéfinies) devant l’appel de l’instruction de manière à réduire indirectement sa sémantique utile, ..."

In fact, it was intentional as I wanted to know whether "express contraints on transitions" was the correct wording, I hadn't forgotten the "directement" (which I translated by "directly")
