Spanish term
pico (de puerta)
Spanish to English
Tech/Engineering
Architecture
In a report from a Mexican door manufacturer, this is listed as one of the processes in the construction of 45-degree doors. The list (with no further context) is as follows:
"Profimat 2
Tiger stop
Balestrini Lynx
Mesa ensamble 1
Mesa ensamble 2
Calibradora
Detallado
Pico
Micrón"
I think it may refer to the swing or catch that restricts the opening of the door to 45 degrees, but I can't find anything to back this hypothesis up. Suggestions welcome!

hook lock
maybe referring to the type of lock - pico de loro - which has a hook shaped latch. They are found on a lot of commercial doors, such as the office in which I sit.
