Verzorgende IG

Dutch to English Medical Medical: Health Care nursing levels
I have a diploma with this qualification on it. Now, I understand what it is: an assistant nurse who takes care of patients (washing and bed making, etc.), but can also perform medical tasks (dressing wounds, getting blood samples, etc.), works under guidance of a staff nurse, but not always.

I gather the equivalent of this in the NHS used to be an (S)EN ([state] enrolled nurse), but this level was abolished in the 1990s. Now I wonder whether it would be safe to assume that this person qualifies as a level 2 registered nurse, or can only work as a healthcare assistant. Or does she fall somewhere in the middle and does she need to qualify further to become registered level 2? As far as I can see, she did MBO and then did extra training.
The snag is that she could obtain a managerial function of some kind, if this term is mistranslated.

Specialist UK help would be appreciated.

She has given us the list of subjects to translate too, so that's not the problem, but it's not very specific. My only worry (if you can call it that ;)) is that she could land in a job where she is not allowed to do anything that has to do with what she was taught, i.e. healthcare assistant, because the decision maker does not want to run the risk. Maybe her own suggestion of 'assistant nurse' is a good one.

Transcript I understand your wish to provide an accurate description of the qualification but I agree with Phil that it is not your job to find the UK equivalent. What I find useful in situations like this is to add a transcript of marks, listing all the subjects the client has taken. That will help the decision makers to properly assess the qualification.

Kirsten I think you're going beyond the call of duty here. Deciding what extra qualifications she needs to work in the UK (which seems to be the implication of your question) is not your problem - you should just translate it in a way that makes clear what the Dutch means.

You could say auxiliary instead of assistant.
