Arrow and Chord principle for the Track Geometry.
Track geometry is detected according to the arrow and chord principle, while twist and super-elevation are detected thanks inertial measurement obtained trough an inertial platform.
Lateral, longitudinal alignment and gauge, are calculated on the base of the arrow and chord measured among the three points placed on the internal side of the rail profile.

Mislim da u suštini razumem o čemu se radi, ali opet nisam potpuno siguran šta je tu taj "arrow" niti kako bih uopšte preveo celu tu frazu.

Arrow bi trebalo da bude strela luka (čini mi se da postoji još neki naziv na engl. ali sada ne mogu da ga se setim :-) ), pogledajte ovde:

Izvinjavam se za typo na početku tek sam sada primetila, trebalo bi da bude:
tj. princip strele luka i tetive
BTW, ovo pitanje bi trebalo da bude u kategoriji "mathematics" (čista geometrija) bez obzira što se ceo tekst može svrstati pod drugu oblast. :-)
