Discussion

Deane Goltermann Apr 5, 2013:
Agree w Kristian While Daniel has hit the term on the nose below, I can't get it to fit the context of the sentence. Given the seemingly poor quality writing you have presented in this and your other recent questions, my sense is the writer has goofed again, misusing a seemingly cool term. If you can squeeze 'supply-side' into a sentance, go for it, otherwise perhaps Kristian has a good idea to work with.
Kristian Andersson Apr 5, 2013:
Not literally I don't think the term "utbudsekonomi" should be translated literally. How about something like "it's a free market where anything can be bought and taught"?

Supply-side economics

Supply-side economics is a school of macroeconomic thought that argues that economic growth can be most effectively created by lowering barriers for people to produce (supply) goods and services, such as lowering income tax and capital gains tax rates, and by allowing greater flexibility by reducing regulation. (Wikipedia en)

Utbudsekonomi är en makroekonomisk riktning ("skola") som hävdar att ekonomisk tillväxt mest effektivt kan skapas med incitament för människor att producera varor och tjänster, till exempel genom sänkt inkomstskatt och vinstskatt. (Wikipedia sv)
Example sentence:

Supply-side economics is a school of macroeconomic thought.

agree Anna Herbst : "Supply-side economy" in this context. Inte för att jag förstår hur utbudsekonomi skulle kunna tillämpas på lärande, men din förklaring är korrekt.

3 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "You are technically correct but the client was actually referring to a new term, "a content economy - where everything can be sold."."

economic liberalism

The other answers are well referenced and probably right but after reading the definition, I can't help but think that supply side economics is a form of economic liberalism.

Maybe experts would recognise all these terms but for a mag or talk to the general public, I'd use the more common term
