fa ermeneutica

Italian to English Art/Literary Philosophy L'importanza delle emozioni nello sviluppo cognitivo umano

Discussion

philgoddard Nov 18, 2013:
You should put that as an answer, with an explanation. I think hermeneutics is an unnecessarily abstruse word in this context.
P.L.F. Persio Nov 18, 2013:

makes a hermeneutics

Ciao.
direi:
makes a hermeneutics of reality and takes a stand.
Ciao e buon lavoro :)

makes reality his/her own / perceives reality

a version.

The problem is that "hermeneitics" and "interpretation" are by no means synonymous. Yes, "hermeneitics" is a "science" of interpretation, but a very particular (phenomenological) interpretation. They are many other forms of interpretation. Say, structuralism. As opposed to the structuralist one, hermeneutical interpretation is “knowing what something is without knowing what it is about" (structuralism tells you what it is about but doesn't know what it is). So it's not interpretation per se we're talking about here but a particular form of understanding.

places reality in a methodological framework of understanding

As Michael notes, hermeneutics is not strictly interpretation, but may be called a theory of interpretation or understanding, therefore one among others. I take the source here to use hermeneutics as an example of a particular approach to the interpretation or understanding of reality evident or present in the subject's choice of languages, what might be called a methodological (hermeneutic) approach. This is what I have tried to convey in the target effort : and this also links to the cognitive element of the source text theme.
