agree Charles Davis : I was considering this very expression myself; all that held me back was uncertainty about whether macizo was just bones (the craniofacial skeleton) or bones plus surrounding soft tissues (the cf complex). But I trust you!

Thank you, Charles! I suppose "craniofacial skeleton" could be used instead if the context specifies only bones.
