French term

conseiller en investissements participatifs

French to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general)
This from a document on crowdfunding. I understand that the new statute alluded to will facilitate crowdfunding. I don't however understand the title of the statute. Crowdfunding platforms before had to have a certain amount of equity in order to invest in start-ups but now as a result of this statute this will not be necessary. As for the name of the statute 'advising on participative investments'. could anyone have a better guess at the english translation and possibly explain the name...? Your help is much appreciated.

Les grandes lignes du nouveau dispositif, qui sera adopté par voie d’ordonnance, sont les suivantes :
Les plateformes dédiées à l’investissement dans des projets d’entreprise pourront adopter un statut spécifique, celui de « conseiller en investissements participatifs » (inspiré du statut existant de conseiller en investissements financiers), sans exigence d’un montant minimum de fonds propres ;
Proposed translations (English)

participatory investments advisor

Is it possible in this instance that statut is referring to a position or status rather than a statute? Because if the statut is conseiller en investissements participatifs that would make the position an participatory investments advisor

Or perhaps more simply crowdfunding advisor, if I'm right in thinking that "participatory investment" is just the longer name for "crowdfunding".
Example sentence:

Les prétendants au statut de CIP devront pouvoir justifier d’un niveau de....

The candidates for the position of CIP must prove a level of....

agree Monica Sandor : Yes, it is a status (though it is true that France adopted a new law (or statute to use UK terminology) governing crowdfunding platforms
