Here is the original context:

"En una de les seves publicacions, el Cercle es feia ressò de les idees i de les iniciatives que ***es tantejaven*** per tal de construir un discurs coherent sobre els grans eixos de la vialitat de primer nivell, tant a nivell del conjunt català com de forma específica per al territori que aleshores s’imaginava com a l’àmbit metropolitan"

I have come across the following definition of "tantejar" - but it doesn't help me much:

Fer ús del dret de tanteig (sobre una cosa).

"Tanteig", it turns out, means:

Dret que pot tenir una persona, per ministeri de la llei o per costum jurídic, d'adquirir una cosa que ha d'ésser alienada a títol onerós amb preferència a d'altres persones pel mateix preu que aquestes pagaven.


This seems to imply a kind of legal gazumping. But whatever is implied, it doesn't help me with how the author is using the word in context. He seems to get quite "creative" in his coining, so perhaps this is another one.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
