I am unsure on the term here, regarding use of subjunctive and how this meaning can fit in context. Thoughts? Does this actually mean "even at the cost of ignoring didactic aspects"? (That seems to fit context better.)

I think "didactic aspects" sounds a bit literal - it means educating the public.
