Scaling is the English word used for removing loose, potentially dangerous material from a rock slope, and also from rock faces in underground mining. Amacizar is the equivalent term in Spanish. See the definitions below, from a mining terms glossary (in Spanish) on the website of Ternium México, a metals miner and steel products producer; and from a mining info site in English.
