At drumming facilities it is often advantageous to sample the product stream that is filling the drums. Tap sampling is the customary procedure in these cases:
• Taps are typically 5 mm or 10 mm (¾ inch or ½ inch) valve taps - if a plug is inserted in the end of the valve care must be exercised in removing it as any leakage from the valve will cause a pressure build up between it and the plug - it is preferable to have facility personnel remove plugs.
• A delivery tube, long enough to reach the bottom of the container is required to allow submerged filling - see diagram.
• Carefully flush the tap prior to sampling.

Discussion
3/4" = 26,9 mm e 1/2" = 21,3 mm
Quindi maschio della valvola. Quello che mi sembra errato è il valore metrico di 3/4" e 1/2", dato che 1 pollice = 25,4 mm e quindi i valori corrispondenti sarebbero ca. 19 mm e 12,7 mm e non quanto indicato (5 e 10 mm)
