Be my guest. I think beat is the emotional content of a scene. "It's a line of dialogue, an action, or a reaction that creates an emotional moment." "A single scene can contain multiple, emotional and dramatic arcs/changes. We call these changes “beats or dramatic beats.”

Scena - kompozycyjnie wyodrębniony fragment filmu. Charakteryzuje się jednością czasu, miejsca i akcji. Np. scena śmierci Wallesa zakończona słowem freedom, scena pościgu samochodowego, scena narodzin dziecka. Scena (brutalna, zapierająca dech w piersiach, miłosna, pogoni za...) ma wywołać w odbiorcy określone stany emocjonalne.

A beat is the smallest structural unit of a script and is defined as an exchange of action/reaction. It's a line of dialogue, an action, or a reaction that creates an emotional moment. For example, a woman dressed for an evening out checks the clock—her date is late. She's annoyed (beat #1). The doorbell rings. Angry, she opens the door (beat #2). Her date tumbles in, bloodied and bruised. Her anger turns to horror and concern (beat #3). As we see from this example, beats are strung together to build a scene.

A beat is a measurable chunk of time that defines a change. Because a beat can be measured it can be isolated, talked about and acted upon.

Film jest szeregiem uporządkowanych, oglądanych w określonym czasie, tempie i warunkach ruchomych obrazów. Najmniejszą jednostką filmu jest ujęcie, czyli ruchomy obraz zapisany podczas jednego uruchomienia kamery. Taki obraz zachowuje jedność czasu, miejsca i akcji. Cały film składa się z szeregu ujęć tworzących sceny, sekwencje i akty, jednak nawet najdłuższy film nie jest szczegółowym zapisem zdarzeń, ale składa się z obrazów „skondensowanych”, przedstawiających to, co najważniejsze, a pomijających to, co nudne i zbędne. Posługiwanie się obrazami skondensowanymi wynika nie tylko z konieczności technicznych (dwugodzinny film jest w stanie przedstawić dzieje świata), ale odpowiada również naszemu codziennemu postrzeganiu rzeczywistości. Zmysł percepcji filtruje cały docierający szum informacyjny zauważając i zapamiętując tylko to, co istotne. Dzięki temu zapamiętujemy np. argumenty stron obserwowanej kłótni, ale nie pamiętamy, jakie te strony nosiły buty (chociaż na pewno je widzieliśmy).

I think the answer may depend on the context. Technically, ujęcie may be it; emotionally, my previous answer may still work. Perhaps, I should not have pulled it down.
