Swedish term
korvar i samme burk
Swedish to English

Medical (general)
term/expression
This is from a discharge summary for a patient with prostate cancer. A transrectal ultrasound was performed, and then the doctor writes that he did some biopsies, and "På båda sidorna tar jag extra prover och två korvar i samma burk". Any idea what that last part would refer to? I doubt this has to do with sausages.

(biopsy) cylinders in the same container
Of course Nils is right, this clearly refers to prostate biopsies and no stool samples. However, to fully mirror "korvar" I think you had better use "cylinders" or "biopsy cylinders".

two samples in each container
As somebody who has gone through this in the US, I am pretty sure.
At any rate, these are NOT stool samples, they are biopsy samples from
the prostate.

cylindrical biopsy specimen
The technique involving removal of this type of specimen is sometimes referred to as a punch biopsy.
