Spanish term

CAVER [C.A.V.E.R.]

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Education / Pedagogy Certificate (Chile) /Centro Técnico Superior
Dear colleagues:

There is a circular stamp on a certificate from from the Ministry of Education (Chile) with:

CORPORACION EDUCACIONAL
Liceo Politécnico “A” No. 25
Director
Linares
CAVER

It appears inside the circumference of the stamp - top half of circle has "Corporacion Educacional", while the bottom half has *CAVER*.

Any idea what CAVER means or is?
It is where you would normally have the name of city.

@ Donal Can't do that. The only options open to me that I see on my screen are: Close w/o grading, Edit, Reverse Pair, Squash. That is why I am "begging" one of you to put in the answer, and I will then grade and close! Capiche? LOL! Regards.

It is a mystery, but as Charles mentioned in his reference, and he too has looked exhaustively (and I have as well); http://www.emagister.cl/cursos-cecade-group-centro-capacitac... (CECADE). The one I am looking for deals with "Liceo Politécnico A- 25, Linares and then below that "CAVER"; other references and those found by Charles may (?) suggest "cursos auspiciados por el Instituto Caver, organismo de una Iglesia Cristiana", and as Charles pointed out "Centro Audiovisual Evangélico Regional", but references are hard to come by. Thanks so much. I really appreciate the time you spent looking........!!!!

CENTROS DE FORMACIÓN TÉCNICA NO VIGENTES (CON ANTECEDENTES ACADÉMICOS EN EL MINISTERIO DE EDUCACIÓN)

I've found an Excel file that includes (but does not explain) CAVER. Row 27 suggests it was fairly shortlived in the 80s "Centro de Formación Técnica Centro Técnico Superior de Capacitación y Cultura CAVER 29/04/1982 23/06/1988"

Another entry "Centro de Formación Técnica Centro de Capacitación y Desarrollo Educacional CECADE" suggests to me that CAVER might be CApacitación+some subject with acronym VER (or ER). There are e.g. hits on "Autosuficiencia Visual, Estimulación y Rehabilitación" so a centro for that would work but there's no actual evidence for it.

Another Centro de Formacion tecnico is "CELLER" which might be worth pursuing.

I have found this as a meaning of CAVER, but I'm not confident enough that it applies in your case to post it as an answer.

The document is about pottery classes for coal miners, apparently, and it looks quite old. It is from Chile:

"Su proyecto fue presentado al Centro Audiovisual Evangélico Regional (CAVER) y a la Dirección Regional de Turismo (SERNATUR), entidades que lo acogieron con gran entusiasmo otorgando su más amplio apoyo a la iniciativa."

Frankly I think you should probably just leave CAVER as is and perhaps add a note.

Interesting! "una Iglesia Cristiana" certainly fits "Evangélico" (if it were Catholic they would just have said "la Iglesia").
