Spanish term

candas

Non-PRO Spanish to English Art/Literary Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting
Hi everyone-- Perhaps someone will have insight into this. A list of artwork makes reference to an oil painting, "Candas grises" by Ecuadorian painter, Uzhca. No idea what "canda" might be. I have tried thinking of possible typos, to no avail. Thanks!

Sorry not to have more context, but it is a list.

Canvas Gris perhaps Might be the fabric to paint in gray color

Thank you all so much for your help ... not having found a solution, I think the best approach will be to render the term as is, as mamelushen suggests.

Candas grises If Alfonso Uzhca painted "Candas grises" he must have kept it as a secret as no reference has been found to it and even to other work by the painter.

¿Cañadas grises? One possibility, although "canda" could be some kind of Ecuadorian regionalism. We need Patricia Fierro to come to the rescue.

Possibly a typo I haven't been able to find it either. However, I did find that painter Alfonso Uzhca is the head of the Asociación de Artistas Plásticos de Las Peñas. You may want to find more info there.

Type of fabric???

Maybe. I found these two sites which suggest that it might be a type of fabric or fabric design, in which case I'd suggest rendering the term as is.
