: Possible. Il se peut que ladite question soit posée par ou en référence à une commission intérimaire aussi.//Nobody can be absolutely sure here... as we only have a truncated sentence and no further context... ;))

: extremely unlikely as meaning - both grammatically and knowing how EU operates

: "question intérimaire" is a distinct possibility - more context would help!

The agreements between Israel and Palestinians mark significant progress in the framework of the peace process. Israel believes that this process is the only way to achieve historic reconciliation and lasting peace between the two sides. However, for this process to succeed, it is imperative that both sides abide by their commitments made under the agreements signed by them. Israel calls upon the Palestinian side to live up to its commitments and resume its participation in the negotiations on all outstanding interim matters and on permanent status issues.

Discussion
2. Il se peut que vous ayez raison, qu'on parle d'une "interim question", "whatever it is exactly" à laquelle la France a déjà répondu (cf. "in its response"). Néanmoins, dans les circonstances, "whatever it is exactly" confine au non sens et complique légèrement la traduction...
Finalement, il reste une autre hypothèse, celle de la coquille: "in its response to the Commission's interim report question that..."
it's plainly obvious that this ST has to do with the interaction between France and the Commission of the European union (a.k.a "la Commission européenne") - there never was any "interim Commission" - all have exercised their mandate to the end of their term before being replaced by the next one.
The current one is certainly not an "interim" one in any shape of form, nor was the previous one at any moment.
IOW there is no chance in a year of Sundays that "interim" could refer to the Commission of the EU
This ST is about an "interim question" (whatever it is exactly) that France has to answer to the European Commission.
In this ST it's not about France having its say on the fate of some "interim" European Commission; it's the other way round: here the Commission is doing the questioning and France is expected to do the answering.
BTW a quick search show that "interim question" is not some exotic term even outside of the EU jargon ...
...in its response to / the Commission's interim / question
Taken out of context, the EU jargon can and often do sound strange ...
