French term
cirrhose C

Medical (general)
hepatology
A doctor is being interviewed about recent developments in hepatology. This extract is about hepatitis C complications, which is why I need to be sure what the C stands for here: C-type hepatitis or Child-Pugh class C; in previous cases, when C referred to the Child-Pugh score, this was explicit.
This comes just after a section about screening for hepatocellular carcinoma; it is the interviewer speaking.
I hope that context is sufficiently clear: it's difficult for a non-specialist...
BTW, this is a video that I'm subtitling: the more succinct the translation, the better!

Note from asker:
Hmm, yes, I know hepatitis C is a major cause of cirrhosis, but I'm afraid I remain to be convinced that in this case that is definitely what is being referred to. |
So (since this is for subtitles) would "Cirrhosis C" be understandable in English? |

: Depending on the target audience, "hep C cirrhosis" might work (can't think of anything shorter than that)

Thanks a lot. Do you think that for my subtitles I can get away with "cirrhosis C"? |

The context you listed is not really conclusive in terms of "Child-Pugh C cirrhosis" versus "cirrhosis secondary to a C hepatitis".
The following reference uses "cirrhose C" in the latter sense: http://hepatoweb.com/congres/chb2006/Duclos.pdf
