Begun as a collegiate church by Edward III, it is dedicated to St Mary
and All Saints. In 1434 a parish church was built on to the west end of the collegiate church. This is what survives today – or, rather, part of it does. The collegiate church and associated buildings have gone, and the chancel of the parish church was pulled down after the Dissolution in 1553, so that what it left is a tall, truncated building. - http://www.richardiii.net/downloads/bulletin/2012_03_March_b... - page 17
