Spanish term
documento de cancelación o liberación de hipoteca
Spanish to English
Law/Patents
Real Estate
Para liberar una hipoteca he encontrado "to discharge a mortgage" o "to release a mortgage".
Muchas gracias

cancellation or discharge of mortgage document
It appears "discharge" is favoured over release in Canada.
The way I understand "cancelación" is any cancellation of the loan, for which there could possibly be reasons other than repayment.
I think the "paid-in-full letter" is something different, it appears to be a letter from the bank showing the loan has been paid back to them, and is required in order to obtain the discharge of mortgage document.

Obtain a Discharge of Mortgage document.
The Discharge of Mortgage document is you officially stating that you have paid off your mortgage and you want to discharge the loan entirely...

mortgage redemption (pay-off) or (registered) discharge document
Pace Allegro and Robert C., I now believe the order of the timing shows up false friends: cancellation is surely the pay-off of the mortgage, whilst the liberation is discharge at the Land Registry.
For instance, in Spain, paying off (redeeming) the mortgage with a bank or caja de ahorros (bulding soc.) does not automatically wipe off the mortgage registration. The latter needs to be done as an extra step. 'In my day in the City of London' using a Form 53 discharge form.
ProZ Scrivener-Linguist Notaries to confirm.

mortgate relief/release of deed of trust document
So if your loan has come to an end and you’ve paid it off in full, and you’ve received from the lender your cancelled note and mortgage, you still need the lender to release the lien it had on your property. In some states, your lender may send that release document straight to the office that records or files property documents where you live. That document may be called a “Mortgage Release,” “Release of Deed of Trust,” or may be referred to by some other similar name. You could then check with your local recorder of deeds office to see if the release has been filed
