Portuguese term

compensado

Portuguese to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general) Pay slip
In a pay slip for an executive position, under the headling "Batida" there are several entries alongside the corresponding date. One is "compensado", which appears alongside a Saturday date. I imagine it means "Paid", but I wonder if it could refer to flex time; i.e., the day is being paid by offsetting overtime accumulated during the week.

Compensação de horas This likely means the employee owed some hours and paid them off = horas compensadas.

(Br) credited to employee's account: (Port) paid up

Does it matter that we don't know the source-country? My European vs. Atlantic vs. African vs. South American suspicions lead to different regional interpetations.
Example sentence:

Pessoal estou com uma dúvida referente à sabado compensado... é o seguinte, aqui na empresa trabalhamos com compensação de horas, ou seja o sabado é trabalhado durante a semana e temos ele de folga

(overtime) compensated

Referring to extra hours worked (that have been registered on the time card) - that may already have been taken back by the employee, by way of time off.

added to flextime account

compensado => added to flextime account

Since executives usually do NOT work on Saturdays - the hours this person put in on Saturday will be credited to a flextime account - (not paid as overtime) - thus "compensado"
