Spanish term
trabajo alternativo
Spanish to English
Bus/Financial
Business/Commerce (general)
Employment (Spain to UK)
This is from a person writing about how her present job has become something more than what she at first thought it would be.
I'd never heard this term before so I'm not sure how it's used in Spain.
"Con el paso del tiempo, lo que pensé sería un “trabajo alternativo” se ha convertido en uno de los ejes de mi vida..."
I get the feeling it means "casual job/work", but would like confirmation.
Part-time job? Odd job? Job on the side?
Thanks in advance.

alternative/different job
Any reason to suppose it means anything more complex than this>
Note from asker:
Actually, there was, but now I see that "alternative job" was the right answer all along, it's one of the terms they use in company she works for. Saludos! |

Thanks David, that was my understanding to begin with too, but I'm almost certain of the answer now, as I said above in AllegroTrans' post, this is from a US company that markets it's employment opportunities as "alternative jobs" or "alternative employment". I'll probably close the question now. |

Stop gap job
It sounds like it seemed like a simple "job" or stop gap job, rather than a career move.
