Topfkacheln

Liebe Kollegen,
ich suche nach einem englischen Wort für Topfkacheln. Wie sie aussehen und wie diese im Fußbodenausbau eines mittelalterlichen Kellers verwendet wurden, ist hier gut zu sehen (besonders das Bild weiter unten): http://images.google.de/imgres?imgurl=http://www.havelstadt....

Ich bin auf den Begriff "pot tiles" gestoßen, war aber etwas erstaunt, was für Bilder Google dafür anbietet. Zu finden waren hier eindeutig auch die Klosterziegel, die ja keine Topfform haben.... https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mönch_und_Nonne

Ähnliche Bauteile gibt es auch im Ofenbau.
Gibt es solche Ziegel überhaupt außerhalb Deutschlands?

Archaeological terms like this are often left in the original language, with an English translation if necessary. This is what the authors of my two references have done: the first in figures 8 and 9 on pages 454-5 (which shows that they are indeed pot-shaped) and the second in fig. 4 on page 245.

I've just noticed that you imply these are floor tiles, not stove tiles. But apart from that, my answer remains the same.

Thanks Phil, these tiles were used as part of the floor setup. However, it is quite possibly that they are exactly the tiles used for stoves at that time. The floor is unusual and very sophisticated, placed in the cellar of a rich merchant. He stored goods there which needed to remain dry and the house is very close to a river....
