English term

someone who accepts his reality

Non-PRO English Other General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters
The boy in this story, is turned into a mouse. He accepts his reality and even tries to find the advantages of being a mouse. He says,"I wasn´t depressed. I decided I rather liked it."
I need an adjective to describe this person. Can you say he is "resigned"?

I agree with Tina perhaps use a verb, though - he resigned himself to ...
Tina Vonhof (X) Oct 28, 2016:
@asker I think 'resigned' would work here. It means that he learns to accept it and, as it says in the sentence that follows, he tries to see the positive side.
Veronika McLaren Oct 28, 2016:
acquiescent - another possibility, maybe slightly more positive than resigned?

Doesn't "at peace with himself" connote that he's not upset with what he is? In order to express that he has decided to come to terms with the reality, I think "at peace with himself" is better than "content".
Patsy Florit (asker) Oct 28, 2016:
I want to point out that this is one characteristic of his personality. It´s obvious he prefers not to be a mouse but when he sees he cannot change this, he accepts it and tries to find the positive part of it. He tends to do this with everything that happens to him.

At peace

This is used in the explanation for another answer, but I feel that it works better as an answer unto itself.
