I am translating the above phrase within a terms and conditions contract for a construction project and my attempt at it sounds very clunky in English: 'Works Progress Invoice'.
Is the phrase implying that the invoice is for future work to be carried out? 'Invoice for Additional Works' for instance?

progress billing
Progress billings are a series of invoices prepared at different stages in the process of a major project to seek payment for the percentage of work that has been completed so far. A progress billing (invoice) shows the original contract amount and any client-approved changes to that amount.

I don't think "invoice for work in progress" necessarily indicates that a required percentage of work has been completed and must be paid for.
