Curious indeed! Agree with Tony and think this might be a translation from another source language, or written by a non-native speaker of English.

@ Asker Curious expression, but from the 'see' in the second half of the sentence, I think you need to place the emphasis on the eyes rather than the head: he has 2 eyes (like everyone else), but will he still be able to 'see' the problem? (Possibly a wood / trees kind of situation?)
We do use expressions like "Use the eyes you were born with!" to urgen someone to open their eyese (and mind?) to see what is maybe staring them in the face...

Having "eyes in the back of one's head" means being sensitive to dangers, difficulties.

J'ai lu la discussion, et je pense qu'il faut en effet garder l'idée de concession/opposition, et aussi "les deux yeux". je propose donc "il a beau avoir ses deux yeux, peut-il voir..."
