How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)
A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

mark the beginning and end of your desired term/expression with quotation marks. Continue to do the same with your second term/keyword.
If you do like this, you receive exact mathches. I do not say that this solution always work but most of the cases I successfully use it when searching the right expression like now. Frequency of the use is a good indicator.
But the best source during these years - Duden. Simply the best.

: Ich stimme Heike zu. „Auf der Registerkarte“ wäre für mich direkt auf dem Tab, wo meist das Logo zu sehen ist. „Unter“ würde sich somit auf den darunter angezeigten Inhalt beziehen.

The only way to get OK results, IMO, is to use another modifier like site: de / site:uk (else, your search includes translations too!) etc. and have a look at several of the links.
Your Duden suggestion I can agree to, though (although the Duden dropped its grammar section basically; we now have a Rat für deutsche Rechtschreibung for that). In essence, this is a grammar and not a style issue, so "frequency" shouldn't factor into it here. Hey, you can find more than a million Ghits for "acommodation" with one -m-, which doesn't make it right.

Ich kann auch der "auf"-Antwort aufgrund der Betonung der Google-Suche als Indiz nicht zustimmen. Google selbst betont, dass die Zahlen nur Schätzungen sind - und die können sich schon dann ändern, wenn man an einem anderen Gerät sitzt (!). Das ist leider keine verlässliche Zahl, so oft dass auch von Kollegen in diesem Forum angebracht wird. Bei Eingrenzung der Suche vielleicht schon eher, aber nicht einfach durch Anführungszeichen.

Hast du denn was gegen "im Home-Bereich"? Das ist meines Wissens nach sehr beliebt bei Portalen etc. und würde mMn zu dem weiteren Text von Olaf passen.
Aber "Unter der Registerkarte"? Selbst wenn man es rein geometrisch interpretiert, klemmt es: Die Karte ist ja nicht der Reiter oben am Rand der Karte.
Leider nennen etliche englischsprachige Autoren beides "tab", meinen aber in aller Regel den Hauptteil, also die Karte. Microsoft unterscheidet beim Programmieren zwischen dem Reiter (tab) und der Karte (tabpage); es hat mich vor Jahren mal einen halben Tag gekostet, bis ich das gemerkt habe. :-(
