English to French Tech/Engineering Automotive / Cars & Trucks Truck design

CONTEXT:

Part of a subtitling project about the design of trucks.
The speaker is talking about the bumper, saying : "it is made of steal at the front and tapered on the sides, so the driver doesn't have to worry about where the end caps are".

Clearly, the truck bumper being tapered makes the front of the vehicle a little narrower (each side of the bumper being on an angle), but how would you translate "end caps"?

Capuchon? Embouchure? Embouts? Panneaux de protection?
Quel est le terme exact de mécanique / design automobile? On dirait que je ne trouve rien. :(
