Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

PRO (1): Robert Carter

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

Robert Carter Apr 12, 2017:
Definitely a "Pro" question by the way, considering the differing opinions among even some of our most seasoned colleagues here. I often have to stop and think about this one instead of resorting to ready-made solutions.
Helena Chavarria Apr 11, 2017:
I agree with 'computer applications'. 'IT applications' gets fewer G-hits.

additions and removals

I don't disagree with Helena's answer, this is just another option. Employees are being added (e.g., when hired) or removed (when leaving the company) from the list of those with access to the "computer applications" (yes, I think computer applications is fine, to answer the other question incorporated).

I don't really like "cancelled registrations", because I think it implies something more complicated than what is being said in this context -- employees are added or removed from the list of those being given access -- Helena's citation also includes "unregistered", which personally I think is preferable to "cancelled registration).

agree Robert Carter : If the asker doesn't go with my idea, and that's probably quite likely, I think your one is the best, plus it's kind of backed up with the references I've given.

(new) registrations and cancelled registrations

To carry out experiments at SACLA, project leaders/applicants and project team members need to have completed user registration to obtain a user card ID number in advance. User registration is also required of users who already have an ID card for SPring-8 staff (staff of RIKEN and JASRI): if you have your SPring-8 Card, enter the ID number in the box provided for user card ID number to avoid multiple registrations.

---

Article 6 (Handling of registered information)
JASRI possesses, for a limited period, users’ information registered through the Service. JASRI rejects any applications for the cancellation of registration from users, excluding duplicate registrations. In the case of duplicate registration or nonuse for a given period, JASRI may unregister the user at its own discretion.

agree philgoddard : All of these answers are fine, but you were first. You don't need to repeat "registrations".

I was thinking of what you see on websites, when a person registers and cancels their registration. I thought of 'deregister' but I'm afraid I don't often use it. Cheers, Phil!
neutral patinba : It's simpler than that. Just an IT list with names that are added or removed.

You could well be right but it's up to the asker to decide. Thank you for your opinion, patinba :-)

onboarding and offboarding

I don't know how ubiquitous these terms are in the IT industry or HR in general, particularly "offboarding" but I've certainly come across "onboarding" an awful lot recently, and they might be worth considering in this case.
It's something I hadn't considered before either as a translation for "altas y bajas" in this context, but I might well do in the future.

onboarding and offboarding
In identity management, onboarding is the addition of a new employee to an organization's identity and access management (IAM) system. The term is also used if an employee changes roles within the organization and is granted new or expanded access privileges.

Conversely, offboarding refers to the IAM processes surrounding the removal of an identity for an employee who has left the organization. The term may also be used to describe the restriction of certain access rights when an employee has changed roles within the organization.

Onboarding and offboarding procedures must be documented to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. To avoid errors that could result from a manual offboarding procedure, experts suggested automating the process through a talent management system.

What is onboarding and offboarding?
Onboarding is the process of adding new employees to an organization's identity and access management system. The employee has to be given access rights to applications based on the his/her job or role and business requirements.

On the other hand, offboarding is the processes of the removing access rights to applications, when an employee leave the organization.

Proper onboarding and offboarding is necessary for organizations to be compliant with government regulatory requirements.
