English to French Art/Literary Military / Defense Roman de perspective fiction, type Space Opera

je suis au milieu d'un inventaire d'armement, ne cernant pas la nature de ce canon j'ai envoyé un message à l'auteur :

"Energy cannons are , as far as I understand, a class of weapons which uses energy, like laser, electricity… but by personnal ? do you mean one tha can be carried by one person like the Luke Skywalker’s laser-sword, or big cannons against people like in Star-trek ?"

"A personal energy cannon is a weapon that can be carried by a (fairly strong) person, and it sort of resembles a laser the way a regular cannon resembles a rifle. A laser emits a narrow, focused beam of energy at a pinpoint target, such as to kill or wound a person or used like a welding torch to burn through something. An energy cannon is larger and heavier, and projects a much more powerful blast of energy, such as when you might want to blast through a wall. It's not subtle, but it will knock a big hole in your target."

Je n'ai toujours aucune idée quant à la traduction (étant anti-militariste je déteste toute forme d'arme)
