Discussion

Helen Johnson Oct 8, 2017:
Diarmuid, that's exactly what I was going to provide in an answer until I saw these discussion points. That's what it is - I've had that before as well (UK English).
Diarmuid Kennan (asker) Oct 2, 2017:
Trailer The client has just informed me they want this translated as trailer, even though the text seems to differentiate between a trailer and a "slæp" - well, the customer is always right, I guess :-)

Thanks to you both for your input - much appreciated.
Christopher Schröder Oct 2, 2017:
Is it not a trailer on a car etc as opposed to a trailer on an artic?
Diarmuid Kennan (asker) Oct 2, 2017:
Not a typo Thanks Gitte. This word appears repeatedly across 3 related documents that are otherwise written in perfect Danish without any typos.
I can only conclude that the word is a common word in the freight industry :-(
Gitte Hoveds (X) Oct 2, 2017:
Not a Danish word It looks like a misspelling of 'slæb'.

Gyldendal has these options for slæb that might be relevant in this context: 'tow rope', 'tow line', 'towing hawser'.
