Spanish term

Otros no.

Spanish to English Law/Patents Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs Criminal Records Certificate
Context: Criminal Records Certificate, Spain.

The certificate was issued to a Romanian national and says:

D./Da (name) nacional de Rumania con Otros no. (number).

Can anyone help with this use of "Otros"?

There is usually the Spanish ID number here, or a UK passport number, so obviously similar concept, but I don't understand at the moment!

Thanks for all the help. I suppose I was just checking that I hadn't missed something with regards "Otros" and that it wasn't some Romanian reference unknown to me! On reflection, I still think it's best to put "Other" and a footnote to the effect that this signifies "Other forms of I.D.", because I am aware that it's best not to add words which are not there, particularly in legal translation. I think this does the trick.

Maybe it's other than born-in residence so the field label is visa type&protocol no.

Yes, I think that makes sense. I have currently translated as "Other" and put a footnote to this effect. Hopefully that will be sufficient.

I think it may be because the person's ID number isn't any that is recognized by the application/system/whatever. "Otros" would be used if, for example, the empty field is for a NIF, NIE or another document type, but the person in question doesn't have that document, so inputting, say, their national ID Number from another country would be a mistake because it would give an error.

Me ha parecido bastante extraño que ponga "Otros no" si el certificado es español. Pero consultando varios certificados en español, inglés y rumano la conclusión es que si hay que poner algún número después del nombre siempre es el de un documento identificativo de la persona. El más corriente en español es el DNI o Pasaporte. Quizá por eso pongan "Otros" sin especificar más.

Como podría ser cualquiera de los dos, quizá "Doc. no." sea lo más aproximado.
