with Lancashireman I think I was misunderstood, I would not use background at all for this... and maybe the propositions differ in BE and AE, but paraphrase, which is why I suggested "Considering" ... "In light of" is also a nice way to paraphrase. The whole suggested sentence is basically verbatim transcribed from the German... gives me goosebumps...

Agree I wouldn't choose it either, but it's not wrong; "in front of" is. I don't even know how that could be incorporated into the sentence.

Though I'm not sure what's wrong with "backdrop"? E.g.,
"Against this backdrop Hubbub will continue to deliver a wide variety of practical campaigns with an increased focus on addressing climate change and creating stronger local communities."

Also, while I agree that 2019 isn't in the right place, there is little wrong with once again (though again, I would have phrased it differently):

Against this background Is a bit academic and I'm not convinced by it in this context, but is a standard English phrase (my PhD supervisor loved it), unlike "in front of" or with "backdrop" .

Der englische Satz geht ja mal gar nicht.... eine mögliche Option wäre "Considering all this, 2019 while still young promises to be exciting and innovative, starting with XY-... to be followed directly by "Handwerk"....

Against this background -> wenn dann "in front of" und vielleicht backdrop, aber doch nicht background... wir reden ja nicht von einer Tapete... und wie soll 2019 "once again" etwas werden... 2019 gibt es nur einmal und es kommt nicht wieder und ansonsten könnte man es ggf. auch so deuten, dass 2018 nicht so toll war und das würde man in einem Marketing Text doch nie einräumen...
