Hola nuevamente,

Translation
At any time, ABC may request any information from XYZ so that ABC is informed about the implementation of the Project by XYZ. Upon receiving the written request from ABC, without prejudices to its immunity and privileges, and with the prior coordination of XYZ, XYZ agrees and commits itself to provide to ABC with access to any vouchers and receipts issued as a result of the Project activities carried out by XYZ.

Discussion

philgoddard Mar 4, 2019:
I'm sorry, I now see that you said that in the second paragraph of your question. I'd do a literal translation and put a translator's note saying that the Spanish appears to be garbled.

The first sentence of the Spanish is badly written too. You could translate this simply as "ABC may at any time ask XYZ for an update concerning the progress of the project."
Lydianette Soza (asker) Mar 4, 2019:
No, at all Phil. I mean XYZ refers to the same company, and I agree with you when you say"but that in turn seems to imply that XYZ is consulting itself"
philgoddard Mar 4, 2019:
It appears to mean "subject to consultation with", but that in turn seems to imply that XYZ is consulting itself. Or have you used XYZ to refer to two different companies?

and with the prior coordination of XYZ, XYZ agrees and undertakes

At any time, ABC may request information from XYZ so that ABC is informed of XYZ's implementation of the Project. Upon receipt of ABC's written request, without prejudice (I would not use "prejudices") to its immunity and privileges, and with the prior coordination of XYZ, XYZ agrees and undertakes to provide ABC with access to all vouchers and receipts obtained by OIM for Project activities.

(I don't know what OIM is, so I am not sure why you used this at the end of the sentence "issued as a result of the Project activities carried out by XYZ"?). That is how I read it, but, of course, there are other options too.

Lydia: I still don't understand. The original reads " .... comprobantes y recibos que obtenga OIM por las actividades del Proyecto." You just said "it should read XYZ, rather than OMI". That is not what the original has. BTW, what then is OMI?

Oops "OIM". What is "OIM"?

Agree with Phil that you can further simplify the first sentence: "ABC may at any time ask XYZ for an update concerning the progress of the project."

I am just wondering if it is "... following internal consultations (XYZ), XYZ agrees and undertakes....". This may work.

But it is still the last section that is bothersome. What is OIM?

Thanks.
Note from asker:
Once again, thanks a lot Taña for your assistance. And, you're right, actually it should read XYZ, rather than OMI. Too many abbreviations.
Hi again Taña, I would like to thank you for all the information provided in relation to my question. Regarding your question, it was my mistake it should be read as ""XYZ" rather than "OMI"

Thanks Jane.
neutral philgoddard : No, it's not "coordination of", it's "liaison/consultation with". But that still doesn't make sense in my opinion.

We happened to post at the same time, apparently! If you read my last entry, you would understand! It is badly written and Lydia should ask the client to rewrite! Fact of the matter the original says "previa coordinación" (could be internal and said so)
Something went wrong...
